TLDR : Answer Summary
A Non-B single entry visa expired on May 18, and the individual did not apply for an extension or visa amnesty. They inquired about extending their visa, noting that their work permit remains valid until April 2021, despite travel challenges due to COVID-19 and the Indian embassy's refusal to issue a letter. A comment suggests that if the work permit is valid and there is ongoing employment, they might still be able to extend the visa.
this is why they will not issue me a Non O 90 day. They will only issue visas and extensions available in country if you have a valid Visa and amnesty is not a valid Visa. I think this will have to change and those who are normally able to do whatever required on Visa run will be allowed to do so in country. Similarly for those whose visas expired during amnesty. There will be a lot of people having to fly on 31st otherwise. They probably thought the borders would be open on 31st July when setting the amnesty expiry date.
