TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of extending their tourist visa, which included a 60-day initial period followed by a 30-day extension, by an additional 30 days. Comments indicated that it is possible to apply for a further 60-day extension based on the inability to travel due to COVID-19, outlining specific documentation and fees required for the application process.

You can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. Bring the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. [May not be asked at Bangkok Immigration] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms)

4. [Might not be asked at Bangkok Immigration] A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters. [Read it carefully! Does it make sense? No. But it's what they want]

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB processing fee.

You may also be asked to show a flight out of Thailand as well.

@Benjamin *****
Do you have any idea how often people get asked to show tickets for a flight out of Thailand?

My ticket expires on the 27th of January, and I’ve had quite a few in and outs in the past.

Although I’ve never experienced that they asked for a ticket at the immigration office, it could be a recent thing.

Thank you.

I usually go to the office in Nonthaburi, as that’s where I usually stay. I guess we’ll see when I get there.

That is for Muang Thong Thani and Changwattana. If a person has more then one COVID-19 extension of stay, they almost always ask for the flight out.

You can apply for the 'unable to travel due to covid' extention. There's no other extention to the SETV after your 30 days extention.
