Hey, I am hoping the expertise in this group will be able to help me! I initially had a 30 visa which I extended by 30 days. This will run out on the 24th of march. I have friends flying out to meet me on the 22nd-29th. I intend on travelling through Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam after my friends have left and then coming back to Thailand.
Can I get another 30 day extension on my current visa (90 days in total)? and then when I fly back from Vietnam will I be able to get another 30 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice about extending their Thai visa, which initially provided 30 days and was extended by another 30 days, ending on March 24. They are inquiring whether they can get an additional extension and what happens when they return from Vietnam.
, if you want to leave Thailand through a land border after you meet your friend, don't try to get 7-days-to-leave stamp. Better go border-bounce before your friend comes.

You have to leave at 60 days.
Yes you will get another 30 when you re-enter as long as you don't have a history of visa exempts and tourist visas.

Sorry but you will have to leave Thailand on or before March 24th. There's no further 30 day extension possible.
YES you will get New Visa Exempt STAMP 30 days on return to Thailand.
IF your friends are visiting you in Thailand March 22 to 29, you could apply for a 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht and they will DENY it...giving you 7 days to depart Thailand.
The 7 days starts on the day your 30 day application is DENIED. So time your application date carefully.
BUT that's why I asked him what is the purpose of going to Vietnam ? A trip which could be done later while he first does a border bounce and gets a New 30 Day stamp. With no need to get the 7 days extension.
thank you for the response! So Iโd have to do a visa run before the 24th, on my re-entry will it effectively start the 30 days again and allow me to extend if necessary? Or is there a limit to the amount of visaโs/extentions? Tia ๐๐ผ
be careful not to waste a land border bounce with Visa Exempt Entry. You can ONLY do 2 each calendar year. Each one can be extended for 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office.
Get the 7 day extension by applying for a 30 Day extension of stay. Denied AND ORDERED to LEAVE Thailand in 7 days.
correct. What is the reason for your trip to Vietnam? Is it to obtain a New visa exempt entry on your return to Thailand? Just how long are you planning on staying in Thailand this trip/ year?
