TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is traveling to Thailand for 2 months with a booked return flight and hotel. They are asking about the possibility of extending their 30-day visa exemption by an additional 30 days. Comments suggest checking with the airline regarding travel requirements, and confirm that applying for a Single Entry Tourist Visa online can provide a longer stay.

You cannot. You can apply for a single entry tourist visa ONLINE and then once you're approved you can mail in the required documentation, fee etc.

Here's the online portal

it's the air carrier that is gonna have a problem more than the thai immigration staff once you get here.

IF your air carrier will let you check in without a visa to thailand in your passport AND with proof of onward travel later than 30 days you're good to go.

Contact the carrier BEFORE you go to check in and see if you're gonna have a problem or not.

You might have some problems with checking in at your airliner if you return flight is later than the 30 days. You have time enough, you still can apply for the Single Entry Tourist Visa which gives you 60 days on entry.

I agree that this is the best option.

If she is unable to do this then she needs to contact the airline and if they say it's okay, cross her fingers that she gets the same answer when checking in.
