Hi,

I had a 60 day extension, cost 1900 and will end 30 December. Am I able to extend it again? I have made an appointment at MTT in Bangkok.

My partner got in ICU 2 days ago and is very ill. I don’t want to risk that if I apply for extension that they’ll deny it and I need to leave him.

Please, I would appreciate some advise.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of extending their 60-day visa in Thailand due to their partner's serious illness. Responses confirmed that they can apply for another 60-day extension based on inability to travel due to COVID-19. Additionally, it was noted that their partner may also qualify for an extension due to medical reasons, allowing for an extension of up to 90 days, which could be renewed as long as treatment is ongoing.

In fact, there's not all that much more to add to this post.

go to MTT on the date of your appointment and apply for the 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension like normal.

Okay, how about EVERYONE (including the O/P

:O) STAY ON TOPIC.

The fact that your partner is sick plays NOTHING in you getting another 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension.

You apply for it just like you did the previous one, you have an appointment at MTT, and just show up and file for another extension. You'll get a 14 day under consideration stamp just like last time and then go back and get the 60 day extension inked in

Yes, you can extend a 60 day extension of stay due to unable because of COVID-19 until February 28 (I think).

>My partner got in ICU 2 days ago and is very ill.

If your partner is in the ICU, and is also on a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, talk to his doctor or nurse. He can get a extension of stay due to unable to travel for medical reasons, which can let him stay up to 90 days. This extension of stay can be renewed unlimited times as long as he's seeking treatment. It is 1,900 THB.

thank you. I appreciate it.

Is it also an option to extend in Si Sa Ket immigration? Or should I better go to MTT?

What's the visa you used to enter?

You can use MTT, since you're a tourist (assuming that's the office that you're close to)

not really we are in Surin at the moment. But I will go back to Bangkok then if it’s better.

I'd do it at your nearest immigration office, if you don't have other reasons to go to Bangkok. Different immigration offices have different requirements.

so Si Sa Ket will be easier for me?

My opinion is simple: You came in on a tourist visa, and you should be able to use whatever immigration office that's close to you. If you and your partner are in Si Sa Ket, and they have an immigration office there, use that office. If you're in Bangkok, use MTT. If you're in [insert city here], use [insert immigration office here].

Don't make it too hard on yourself; you're stressed right now, and traveling isn't something you should want to do a lot of.
