Currently on tourist visa 60 days starting 7th November. Is it possible to get 60 day extension due to covid on 25th then 30 day extension on top. Not sure if this would work but just looking to maximise my options. Planned to just do 30 day extension after my 60 days but any info on this would help. Thanks ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of extending their tourist visa for 60 days due to COVID-19, starting with a current 60-day visa obtained on November 7th. A comment clarifies that the user can request a 60-day extension based on COVID-19 reasons when their current visa expires on November 26th; if the request is denied, they can then receive a standard 30-day extension instead.

The only thing you can do is to request the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID on November 26th. If they accept it, great, otherwise you will be given a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.

would the 60 day extension start when my 60 day visa ends or start on November 26th? Thanks

it would start on the day of application IF they accept your application.

At most immigration offices, they would accept the application when you have 30days or less on your current stamp.

Bangkok, CM, and a few others allow you to apply for an extension 45days or less left on your stamp.

There were reports that when people could get a 60days Covid extension first, some people had to sign to give up a normal 30days extension.

It means, if the immigration office accepts your application for a Covid extension, there is a possibility that you would be able to stay in Thailand shorter than when you apply for a 30days tourism extension normally because tourism extension will be added to your current admitted stay period (you would have 89days 90nights total).
