Question re extending a TR60, please.

Husband came in to Thailand mid- feb with TR60. I know it can be extended for 30 days at immigration for 1900thb. My question is, is there another extension allowed (basically extending for 60 days) due to covid situation? I’m sure I’ve read somewhere, that something like that is possible. Can anyone advise? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about extending a TR60 visa, specifically if a 60-day extension due to the COVID-19 situation is possible after an initial 30-day extension at immigration for 1,900 THB. Comments indicate varying policies among different immigration offices regarding the extension process. Some offices may require a standard 30-day extension before a 60-day COVID-related extension can be requested. To apply for the 60-day extension, applicants must generally provide specific documents like passport copies, a TM30 form, and potentially a letter from their embassy.

Sorry to use your post, but my question is similar.

Benjamin Hays, thank you for all your informations.

Some of immigration offices said they dont give both extension (regular 30 days, and covid 60 days) and some say they can give both. but if i read what you say , the best way to do is ask first for 30 days regular and then 60 days ?

I would ask first 60 days but i’m worry if finaly after 60 days extension they dont give me 30 days regular extension.

and it seems that some immigration office dont give 30days extension after 60 days extension (for exemption visa entry) do you have some suggestion ?

Thank you

@Aur****
most people get the 30 day regular extension THEN apply for the covid extension.

AT this time there are NO reports of people who recently entered the country (gone thru quarantine) getting a 60 day covid extension and then getting to apply for their 30 day extension.

Different immigration offices have different policies. Some require you to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism before getting a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. All extension of stays are 1,900 THB.

You can ask for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, the worse they would do is give you a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism instead.

For the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy saying they don’t issue the letters. If your embassy doesn't issue this letter, it's ok as well

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

thank you. That’s very helpful. So it seems it may be possible depending on our local immigration. Will check it out with them 😊😊

The last day they are selling the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is March 30 though. WHich immigration office will you use?

Hua Hin. His TR60 expires mid-April without any extension, so I guess it would be ok to ask before 30 March if the 60 day one is available?

@Julie *****
Yes you can :) I don't know which immigration office you'd go to through, if Blueport can do it, or if you'd have to go to the main office.

If I remember right, all extension has to be done at main office in Hua Hin. Blue port office is for some of reporting and some information providing (like giving you requirements hand-out).
