Hello, iam bit confused by the recent posts. I want to stay in Thailand for 6 weeks. Two years ago I did the same and just extended my 30 day Visa on arrival in Koh Samui, what was not a problem. Is this not possible anymore to extend the 30day visa on arrival?

And do i have to book my flight out of Thailand? If yes, Do i have to book my flight out within this first 30 days or can I book a flight out in the extension time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confused about the process of extending a 30-day visa on arrival in Thailand. They previously extended their visa without issues but are unsure if this is still possible. They also inquire about the necessity of booking a flight out of Thailand within the initial 30 days or if it can be done during the extension period. Responses indicate that extending the visa for an additional 30 days is generally possible at an immigration office for a fee, although issues might arise with airlines regarding proof of onward travel if it doesn't align with the initial 30-day period.

You won't have any problem entering on a 30 day visa exempt stamp and then extending it for 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900baht

What you are likely to have problems with is checking in at the airline when your proof of onward travel is not within the 30 days you get when you show up here

You can do a visa run...go to immigration pay ฿1,900 for a 30 day stamp...or you can buy a 60 day SETV prior to arriving...
