I have really tried to get answers from the embassies in Germany but they are really NEVER available and I am currently in Portugal. So - these are my questions - would be mega cool if someone can give me answers. :)
1. Can I extend a visa on arrival in Koh Samui OR is that only possible with a tourist visa?
2. Do I really need a plane ticket for a visa on arrival? Is it really no longer with a cheap train ticket?
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about extending a visa on arrival in Koh Samui and whether a plane ticket is necessary for entering Thailand. Replies indicated that as a German national, they are visa exempt and would receive a 45-day stay upon entry, with the option to extend for an additional 30 days for 1900 Thai baht at a local immigration office. It's advised to check with the airline regarding proof of onward travel.
YES...if you enter Thailand Visa EXEMPT you will be stamped in for 45 days... and can get one 30 day extension of stay for 1900 Thai baht at the local Samui Thai immigration office. Total stay is 45+30= 75 days.
You need to ask your airline if they will require you to show PROOF of your flight departing Thailand within the 45 days stamp you will get on arrival into Thailand.
