Got 3 months single entry non o visa from the Thai embassy in London today. Does anyone know if I can get this visa extended while Iβm in Thailand so I donβt have to leave the country during this crazy covid time. Can I change it to OA or OX Retirement VISA from within Thailand? Thanks for the inputs.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user obtained a 3-month single entry Non-O visa and inquired about extending it while in Thailand, particularly if they could change it to an OA or OX Retirement visa. Comments indicate that a Non-O visa can't be changed to an OA or OX visa inside Thailand, but it can potentially be extended. To extend the Non-O visa based on marriage, they would need to show either 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account or a verified monthly income of 40,000 THB. There are also mentions of the need for a Certificate of Entry and quarantine measures due to COVID-19.

500.000 for elitevisa is money you pay. 3 mio bahts is money you have and keep in your bank accountr. That is quite a difference. To have or not to have!
Changing to an O-X might be a possibility - IF YOU CAN GET INTO THAILAND

Yes and everything was validated by immigration and legal. Do business is as usual with excellent service.

You do not need to convert the visa to an O-A to extend, you can extend the O and in fact it's easier than extending an O-A as insurance is not required. I'm presuming you are married, as you will not get into Thailand right now simply with an O visa, I am guessing they would let you know this and not issue it otherwise. Have you started on the rest of the process to get in, the Certificate of Entry, the quarantine booking etc.
Marriage extension requires 400k in a Thai bank two months in advance of the extension. You may also be able to get a 60 day visit family extension with no financial requirements if you need a bit more time to get that together, open the bank account, get the money in etc.

Bear in mind you don't have to have the 400K in the bank if you have a verified income of THB 40.000,- per month.
The problem is - the monthly income has to be verified by your Embassy. And the UK Embassy won't provide those verifications. You can show it coming into a Thail bank log book monthly over a year but it doesn't help in the short term.
Oh?! Wonder why the UK Embassy won't do that? But I understand the problem here. I'm Swedish and, fortunately, so far no problem with this from the Swedish Embassy (who are really helpful with everything actually!).
Too much hassle? A heard a rumour which may or may not be true that a few freelances kinda gamed the system using PayPal and then ran out of money living in Thailand, so they discontinued it. Itβs a pain tbh.
. Often agents get "busted" but all the immigration police are after is their list of clients, so they can double check their visa legalities. This is when many expats get the late night knock on the door!
I would say that all immigration needs to do is turn on their desktop pcs for any visa data changes. No need to do any busting at all unless they want to help feed facebook with dramatic stories that eventually lead nowhere except tittle-tattle for the woe brigade.
. An agent got busted about a year ago and my cousin was caught up in it. He used the agent to avoid having money in a Thai bank account. Got a visit from immigration who wanted to see his bank book. Slam dunk. Arrest, detention, deportation, life ban. Agent is still operating. Money talks.
I hear you but now compare that to the 1000s who are enjoying cocktails and a beach using the very same agent. By the way what is the name of the agent? Or give us a link to the story. Spill the beans.
We are happy to announce that we have decided to bring grace back on the team after reviewing the full situation.
Some of you already know she was in the office yesterday, working hard as usual.
As usual if you, or anyone you may know needs any visa services you should not hesitate to contact us. If anything this whole situation should remove any doubts about the legitimacy of our services.
We will continue to offer the highest level of thai visa services.
A Non-O visa or an extension based on a Non-O visa cannot be changed to a Non-O-A or Non-O-X visa within the country.

This is true, but it's not necessary to change it to extend. In fact it's easier to extend an O, as no insurance is required. Right now he won't be getting in on either visa though, unless married.
While it is true that everybody entering Thailand should have health insurance, buying a Non-O visa in the home country does NOT require health insurance -- in normal times of course.
. Yes, for in country extensions. But as no O (50+) visas are being admitted at this stage, the future is unknown, but I can't see other visas having mandatory insurance and the O (50+) being exempt, when they are admitted again.
