TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether a Non-O retirement extension can be converted to a Non-O marriage visa in Thailand. It highlights that typically one must obtain a one-year extension of stay based on age (over 50) before changing the reason for the extension. It is advised to visit the local immigration office to prepare the necessary documents for the conversion.

If you get a NON O based on being over 50, it is usually required to get a one year extension of stay based on the same reason first. After that, you can usually change the reason for your extension of stay based on being over 50. Visit your local office well beforehand and tell them your intention to make sure you prepare everything they require ahead of time.

Just what is it you now have ?
FROM your Post 3 days ago,
You had just did a border bounce to get rid of your OA based retirement Visa/Extension.
"after a bounce to Chiang Khong to break my 11 year O/A ret. chain and returning to Chiang Mai with a 30 day exemption [to the townhouse i have lived in with a lease for 7 years] ... do i need to report to C.M. Imm.?"
I assume you now have a Visa Exempt Entry for 30 days stamp in your passport.
