Hello, Is it possible to change a Non-0 retirement extension to a Non-0 based on Marriage or having a Thai Child, without leaving the country. As before the lockdown, you would need to exit to get the 90 days then apply for extension inside Thailand. Is it possbile this be done during the lockdown and borders closed ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to change a Non-O retirement extension to a Non-O extension based on marriage or having a Thai child without leaving Thailand. You would not be obtaining a new Non-O visa; instead, you are changing the reason for your existing yearly extension from retirement to marriage.

You need to go with your thai wife to your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the documentation requirements for a yearly extension based on marriage.

There are over 70 offices in the country, you need to go to yours and get the exact requirements that they want.

@David *******
(y) that means, when you go back to get a new yearly extension they are going to check that you met the requirements for the extension your on as well as meet the requirements for the new extension you're applying for

So they'll look to see that the 800K baht was in the account for 3 months after you got your extension last year & they'll look to see that the balance never went below 400K baht the rest of the year <- those are the requirements for the retirement extension you're on AND they'll look to see that you have the 400K baht in the bank for 2 months before you apply for this new extension based on marriage too.

You would not be getting any Non-O visa, you had one before you got your yearly extension of stay, all you're doing is changing the reason for your year extension from one based on retirement to one based on marriage.

great thanks and would I need to have the 400k funds 2 month's before switching ?

@David *******
, see that's the tricky part,

You have to meet the requirements for the extension you currently have AND the new requirements for the one you're applying for

So that means for example you would have needed to keep the 800K baht in the bank for 3 months after you got your year extension granted then never let the balance go below 400K baht the rest of the year (which are the terms of your current extension)

AND

then you need to have the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for your new extension based on marriage

IF you are on a yearly extension of stay based on being over 50 (retirement) you can indeed "change the reason" for your next extension to one based on marriage without leaving the country.
