Hey everyone - looking for some advice.

We are currently in Nakhon si Thammarat ; as our paperwork is not complete for our non B visa, we need to do a border run (we have already extended our visa by 30 days so can't do that again on this trip). Thinking about going to Sadao on Saturday (Hat Yai - Sadao). Has anyone done this trip and has any tips? Is it possible to do same day border bounce or should we stay the night? Is it a relatively easy trip?

Your help would be appreciated! Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Nakhon si Thammarat is seeking advice on doing a same-day border run to Sadao as their paperwork for a non-B visa is not complete. They have already utilized their visa extension and need guidance on the trip, including if it is feasible to make the border run in one day or if an overnight stay is necessary. Comments provide insights that a same-day border bounce is possible with sufficient cash (20,000 baht or equivalent), a confirmed flight out of Thailand, and a valid accommodation booking. Others suggest alternative routes like going to Satun and taking a boat to Langkawi. However, they caution that Sadao can be busy on weekends and that requirements can vary.

Sadao is hard; it's better to go to Satun and take the boat to Langkawi, much smoother.

You're absolutely right

, but I like the boat for the reason you stated. ☺️

In Satun you can easily use the border checkpoint in Taliban National Park. No need for boat rides. But it could be a more joyful journey.

We did the same day border bounce BUT you must have 20 000 baht CASH and your flight out of Thailand aswell as a valid accomodation booking in Thailand They check everything! We came back in no prob as we met all the requirements.

I read stories about people has to stay one night in Malaysia but I also read stories people go out and can come back in same day. It makes me confusing. What is reported many times is that Sadao border want to see the 20.000 Thb cash or equivalent, some reports are that they allow you to visit the ATM if you don't have. It is a very busy border check point in the weekends.
