Hi guys, I need some help here please.. I'm on a tourist visa (I should get my non-b next month, hopefully) which expires tomorrow. I have 2 landborder stamps already this year, so I need to take a flight, I was thinking to Malaysia. Is it ok if I just spend one night there or would that be suspicious? Do I have to go the Thai embassy or can I just get a 30days visa at the airport? Thank you in advance ๐Ÿ™

Ok, thank you so much..so from what I'm understanding, it all depends on the immigration officer, correct? And they could ask for 20k baht, accomodation booking and a flight out of Thailand, right?

Yup. In theory that's what you need. They can ask for it, although they usually don't.

You don't even need to enter Malaysia, let alone stay the night. I have gotten off the plane and literally gotten on the same one back.

You can fly out and come back for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, directly or after 1 night overstay. But be aware that the Immigration Officer can ask for 20.000 Thb CASH, proof of accommodation and onward travel. The bigger your history the more chance of getting asked, so be prepared.
