Hi guys, I need some help here please.. I'm on a tourist visa (I should get my non-b next month, hopefully) which expires tomorrow. I have 2 landborder stamps already this year, so I need to take a flight, I was thinking to Malaysia. Is it ok if I just spend one night there or would that be suspicious? Do I have to go the Thai embassy or can I just get a 30days visa at the airport? Thank you in advance ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on extending their tourist visa in Thailand. They need to leave the country due to their visa expiring soon and are considering a short visit to Malaysia. The conversation discusses the possibility of obtaining a new 30-day visa exemption upon re-entry to Thailand, the potential requirements posed by immigration officers, such as proof of funds and onward travel, and whether staying overnight in Malaysia is necessary.
Ok, thank you so much..so from what I'm understanding, it all depends on the immigration officer, correct? And they could ask for 20k baht, accomodation booking and a flight out of Thailand, right?
Yup. In theory that's what you need. They can ask for it, although they usually don't.

You don't even need to enter Malaysia, let alone stay the night. I have gotten off the plane and literally gotten on the same one back.

You can fly out and come back for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, directly or after 1 night overstay. But be aware that the Immigration Officer can ask for 20.000 Thb CASH, proof of accommodation and onward travel. The bigger your history the more chance of getting asked, so be prepared.
