TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can convert your 90-day Non Immigrant O visa to a yearly extension based on your marriage to a Thai national. After you apply and receive your one-year extension, you must obtain a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand to ensure you can return. It's important to note that due to travel restrictions, re-entry could be affected based on the country's current border policies.

Of course. Just make sure you get a re-entry permit before you leave.

how about you STOP with the go to lao b/s,

you cannot get back IN to thailand at this time the borders are CLOSED,

the thai consulates in Savannakhet and Vientiane are closed.

Let's see what happens after thailand opens back up and allows foreigners in and after the thai consulates and nearby countries open back up

Go to Laos to get the marriage visa. You can pay 5000 baht and get one year multiple entry marriage visa.

you cannot get back into thailand at this time AND the thai consulate in Lao is closed :( PLUS now to get in to lao you need to buy a visa before you go, AND you need to be quarantined for 14 days once you get there..

So maybe re-think offering out popping over to Lao for a marriage visa for a while there

You won't be getting a year visa at all. :O

What will happen is you will use the Non-O visa you have now to apply for what's called a "yearly extension of stay" based on marriage to a thai. You will show the proof of funds, submit the required documentation and pay the 1900baht. They will give you a month long stamp that says "application for extension of stay is under consideration", When that date comes up you go back to the immigration office and they will put the year extension stamp in your passport

THEN

If you wanna leave the country you would buy a re-entry permit (a single is 1000 baht and a multiple is 3800 baht) then you can leave and come back
