I understand that you can extend a 90 day non immigrant O visa to visit your wife for 1 year. If you want the visit home (uk) twice within the 1 year extension can you simply fly in and out. Is there such a thing as a multiple entry 1 year extension?. What do other expats do.?.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa can be extended for one year to visit your wife. However, if you plan to leave Thailand and return multiple times within that year, you must obtain a re-entry permit to keep your extension valid. Without this permit, your extension will be void upon leaving the country. The re-entry permit costs 1000 baht for a single entry and 3800 baht for multiple entries.

Extensions do not have any entries. If you want to keep your extension valid when you leave you would need to purchase a re-entry permit which will allow your extension to stay alive when you leave. They are 1000 baht for a single re-entry and 3800 baht for multiple. They do not change the dates of your extension at all, so you would need to be back and apply for another extension before the end of your extension.
