What are the requirements and next steps for applying for a 1-year extension of stay based on retirement in Thailand?

Hello everyone. My inquiry is about the requirements and process for the 1 year extension of stay application (based on retirement). I hold a US passport and am currently in Bangkok on a 90 day non-o Visa based on retirement. The stamp was obtained on 9-Nov-2021 (from CW), and expires 6-Feb-2022. I obtained the 90 day non-o Visa stamp using the banked funds method (e.g., 800,000 baht transferred from my US bank account into my Bangkok Bank account on 21-Oct-2021), and completed the TM30 using my current Bangkok address. I also now have a new 1 year lease agreement beginning 15-Jan-2022 for a condo (at a new address) in Bangkok. In addition, I would like to apply for my multi-entry permit at the same time I apply you my 1 year extension of stay.

What I want to better understand are next steps and preparation, and what can I expect when going to CW to apply for my 1 year extension of stay (i.e., when should I apply, what do I need to have in hand; is there a waiting period, etc.). Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the process for applying for a 1-year extension of stay based on retirement in Thailand, while currently on a 90-day NON-O visa. Key points discussed include the necessity of a new TM30 reflecting the new address and the timing of the application, which should occur when there are 45 days or less left on the current visa or when funds have been in the Thai bank for two months. Additional documentation needed for the application mirrors that of the initial visa application but must be current (e.g., new bank statements). It was noted that there is no waiting period for the extension consideration, and the multi-entry permit application should be done after the extension is granted.

Make sure you have a new TM 30 with your new address.

> when should I apply,

You will apply when you have 45 days or less remaining on your current "admitted to" Non-O visa, OR when your money has been seasoned in a Thai bank for two months.

>what do I need to have in hand

You will submit the same documents that you used when you apply for the in-country Non-O visa.

>is there a waiting period

To my knowledge, there is no "under consideration" period for this extension of stay.

> I would like to apply for my multi-entry permit at the same time I apply you my 1 year extension of stay

You will apply for the multiple-entry re-entry permit AFTER your one year extension of stay based on retirement has been granted. You will submit the following documents:

1. Your passport and a copy of:

a. The data “picture” page.

b. The most recent entry stamp or extension of stay.

c. The departure card (“TM 6”) stapled in the passport.

2. The Application for Re-entry Permit (“TM 8”) form.

3. 2x passport photos.

4. 3,800 THB in fees

Same documents as you used for the application for the Visa, but updated like new bank statements.
