I’m currently applying for the DTV visa online in Indonesia and was hoping to get some advice or insight from anyone who’s recently been through the process.
I submitted my online application on the 20th of May, but as of today (the 29th), I still haven’t received any update or had my initial document check completed. Is it normal for this part of the process to take over a week? Just trying to get a sense of the current timelines.
I’m also unsure about my current accommodation—I'm due to check out on the 31st, but not sure whether I should extend my stay here or if it's okay to move to a new place in Bali while the application is being processed. Does changing accommodation affect the application in any way, or as long as I stay in Indonesia, should it be fine?
Any advice or shared experiences from those who have applied online in Jakarta recently would be hugely appreciated—thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on their DTV visa application submitted online in Indonesia, specifically regarding the processing time after over a week without updates and concerns about moving accommodation. Comments from others indicate that such delays are common, with one user sharing their similar experience of an application that stayed in 'pending document check' before being approved. Another comment reassures that changing accommodation is acceptable and does not affect the application as long as the applicant remains in Indonesia.
oh i forgot to say you're fine to move hotels. we moved a couple times around different parts of jakarta, then in the end just stuck to one and extended every couple of days.
hi there, i was just approved in jakarta this tuesday 27th. i applied on the night of 18th, so i suppose you can count it as 19th. it stayed 'pending document check' ALL THE WAY, until the afternoon of 27th. i checked around 5pm and it became pending approval. then within an hour approved!! i got so worried that the status didnt move at all the first few days, i called up the embassy to double check payment and application went thru. and yes, it was submitted fine. they were very helpful to help me check and told me to be patient =) i think you should hear something real soon. sending lots of good luck!!
awesome! Thank you so much for that. Reassuring to know others have had similar waiting times recently and I am free to explore a bit more of the island now too!
yes says payment went through fine (on their site and just double checked my bank) and now it is processing - awaiting document check (1) on the website.
Relieved to hear I am not stuck in this place though as far too remote for my liking. Much rather make the most of my extended stay! :)
