Will changing my address while my Thai DTV application is pending affect my dependent visa applications?

I applied for the DTV from the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, Australia (where we are currently travelling). I applied on 27 August, sent further information on 30 August, and have heard nothing since.

My issue is that I don't want to apply for the dependent visas for my husband and kids until mine is approved, but as we are travelling, my husband's postal address (proof of address is a requirement of the DTV in Canberra) is now different from what mine was when I applied (I had my bank send me a new card at the apartment we were rentingโ€”and we left that place yesterday).

Do you think this will be an issue? If needed, can I apply for dependent visas from a different country than where the main visa was issued? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a DTV at the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra but faced concerns about applying for dependent visas for their family due to a change of address while traveling. They were uncertain about the potential impact on their application status, especially since the dependent visas would follow after approval of their DTV. Community members advised on typical processing times and best practices for the dependent visa application, suggesting waiting for DTV approval and applying at the same consulate, while also offering tips for addressing the change of address issue. Ultimately, the user's DTV was approved within the expected timeframe, allowing them to proceed with applications for their husband and kids.

Update - my DTV was approved yesterday (9 business days after they had requested further information) so I am applying for my husband and kids today. Will update once they are approved.

hi Emma, how did you go with applying for your dependents' visas through the Canberra embassy? My husband and I are hoping to go through this process soon. Did your bank account have 500k for a certain period? And did you need to submit evidence of a second bank account with another 500k for your husband, or were you and go submit with your bank account that you used in your first application? Thank you

hi, I've written up a report here, I used the same screenshot from my application showing our combined funds for all four applicants. Note the total was for more than the 500k * 4 people = 2,000,000 thb.

try including a copy of your Australia Post Mail Redirection Application form (date stamped) + Receipt, which would show your 'official' change of address from old to new addresses

great idea! We are just travelling, so I'm not sure if Australia Post would allow this; I can definitely try it, though.

IF we go from the date you sent in more documents on the 30th you shouldn't hear back from them until about the 12th of Sept (10 business days from the 30th of Aug)

I think you should wait to get your DTV then apply for your spouses at the same consulate because I have never heard anyone getting a DTV and applying for a trailing spouse one from a different consulate than where the primary was issued <- that's not saying it couldn't work, just that with a visa out only 8 weeks there's no history of anyone doing it

I don't know anything about the application process for the DTV, but just a thought... If there's an option in the visa application for supporting documents, if yours is approved, when you do your husband's application, perhaps there might be some way you can send evidence of your location/address at that time, where your new address would support his.
