What happens to my DTV visa application if I return to Thailand during the process?

I am applying for a soft power DTV visa for a Muay Thai school in Bali.

If I return to Thailand during the application process, what will happen to the visa I am currently applying for?

I have an urgent matter to attend to and need to return to Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the implications of returning to Thailand while applying for a DTV visa in Bali. Many comments warn that returning could lead to the cancellation of the application or denial due to the requirement to remain in the country of application. Suggestions include postponing the application until after returning to Thailand or attending urgent matters via online meetings. It is generally advised to avoid leaving the country during the application process to prevent complications.

Thank you for your answer.

decided not to leave in Bali until I get the visa.

Do not leave the country you apply in, until the visa is granted.

You will make it easy for the Embassy to reject the application, and loose the 10.000+ baht fee.

And another genius added to the dtv scam pile 😂

This visa is doomed period

Just fly back what’s the big deal, you will have to re enter to use your visa anyway.

If it’s gender reassignment surgery then you got your timing wrong.

Change the appointment in Thailand it you will have your application canceled. Option is to attend your urgent matter In a online meeting. Why go to Bali if you have this matter

What's the point of flying/applying to Bali if you know you have an urgent meeting in Thailand? Apply only when your schedule allows it. You may receive interview requests and/or be required to provide proof of your location. Your application may be denied.

Anonymous participant 401 Why the assumption that he already knew the ‘urgent meeting’ was known beforehand.

Pretty sure that’s what makes it ‘urgent’ - because he didn’t know.

@Mark ********
And what kind of last minute urgent meeting does a foreigner working online get in Thailand? Most of meetings can be postponed or conducted online (if a DTV applicant).
Mark *********
Anonymous participant 401 Maybe their kid has a health issue and an urgent meeting with physician is necessary.

How the F should I know? The point is you’re making some huge assumptions and it’s none of your business.

Exactly you've no idea and bring nothing to the initial topic. Bye.
Mark *********
Anonymous participant 401 Not only did you bring nothing to the conversation at all, but on top of that you’re criticizing and making unfounded assumptions.

When your kids need an urgent medical appointment, you take them to the nearest hospital covered by the international insurance you’re supposed to have as an expat/traveler instead of waiting and flying 4 hours. Welcome to the world of expats. And all that doesn't change anything to the initial topic, you can't come back to Thailand until approval; that's a rule DOT.

Anonymous participant 401 Uh huh. And what if it’s not an acute emergency requiring immediate treatment, but rather a pressing treatment decision as with a cancer diagnosis & medication options.

My point is you don’t know WTF you’re talking about while you sit here and make assumptions on someone else’s life.

You add nothing mate. Nothing.

Another 4 months expert of Thailand... Did you even try to answer the main question? Enjoy!

Anonymous participant 401 I didn’t answer the main question because I don’t have an informed answer.

Just like yourself.

The only difference is I’m humble and you’re a self-righteous c$nt.

Here you are... Oh don't worry I don't need to insult people as you are. Have a great one!

Anonymous participant 401 Doesnt change a thing.

I addressed the manner in which you assumed his situation, and the unnecessary criticism.

If you come back and It is not noticed and no interview required probably nothing will happen. Get visa and go on Visa run to activate it. However, why even start the application if you need to return to Thailand urgently - why not fly today?

Better postpone applying

Anonym deltagare 160 imagine being this stupid. Now we know why ur hiding
Anonymous ******************
Participant anonyme 160 Yes, it could. Interview and/or proof of location can be required. Plenty of people got denied.
John **********
Anonymous participant 160 I said can not will. They can ask you in for interview or even ask you to send copies of every page in your passport to ensure you have remained in the country during the application as you are meant to do.
Anonymous ******************
Anonymous participant 160 of course, its clearly stated to not enter thailand during the process
