Hi! I will possibly apply for DTV but when on a side trip from Thailand. I plan to have 45 days in the land, then 2 weeks in Bali. Come back and do another 45 or 50 days (all on visa exempt entries) and have another 2-4 weeks somewhere else. I don't plan on doing it a third time. Just wanted to know which country is the easiest to submit the DTV and if it isn't processed in time can I still enter Thailand while I wait? The other option is we apply through the school my child will attend and therefore won't the DTV but won't know if we are staying more permanently until we have trialled life for at least a few months. The above was the only option I could see working well without spending time and money on visas we may not need. Any advice welcomed. No hate please. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while on a side trip from Thailand and seeks advice on the best country for the application, as well as potential entry issues if the visa isn't processed in time. Responses indicate that applying from Bali is feasible, with suggestions to consider the embassy in Jakarta or Hanoi for faster processing. It's advised to remain in the country of application until the DTV is processed to avoid rejection.

I would apply for the DTV while out of Thailand after your first visa exempt entry. There's no guarantee you'll get a second one. You need to research where you want to apply yourself but you can apply via the Jakarta embassy while you are in Bali. You need to stay in the country you apply in until the process completes or risk your application being rejected. If you also want to apply for a spouse or kids you can only do that once the primary application has completed as you need to reference that visa in the application

Vietnam has proven to be quickest on avg through the Hanoi embassy. But if you have 2-3 weeks in another country than just have your docs and application ready to submit when you get off the plane and any of the countries are fine. As long as they don't request an interview most are under 14 days now, but Hanoi has had lots of people mentioning under 7 days.
