Can I apply for a Non-O visa online after marriage and what is the process and synchronization with my partner's visa?

Hi there, I'm looking for Non-O visa advice

My partner is Dutch and has a Non-B and work permit here

I am American and am currently here on a Tourist Visa (with extension I have until October 5th)

Step 1. Get married and registered with a local Amphur

Step 2. Non-O visa for me

A lawyer has said I can convert from Tourist to Non-O for 30k baht, however I think the timeline will be very tight for an in-country conversion, and it is much cheaper to apply on the thaievisa website

Question 1: Can I begin the Non-O application online after we are married but before I leave the country for a couple weeks and then re-enter? The thaievisa website doesn't really know where I'm applying from so it would be nice to get a head start on the waiting period

Question 2: After the Non-O application is submitted, what is the rough turnaround time for the visa to be issued? Just looking for other people's recent experience with the process

After I enter on the 90 day Non-O, I understand it can be extended annually. I was under the impression that it would automatically synchronize with my partner's Non-B.

Question 3: Is that correct? Or will I be on a staggered annual visa compared to his annual visa?

Thank you in advance ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on applying for a Non-O visa after marrying their partner, who holds a Non-B visa. They inquire about the possibility of starting the application online before leaving the country, the estimated turnaround time for the visa, and how their Non-O visa will synchronize with their partner's Non-B visa. Responses indicate that the online application requires the applicant to be physically present in their country of application and that visa synchronization is linked to the partner's visa status.

You can't use evisa unless you plan on traveling back to the US to apply. You have to physically be in the country you are applying through.

You also can't get the trailing spouse visa until your spouse is on the non-B 1 year extension, and not the initial 90 day visa.

You would want to do a visa run to a neighboring country and apply there as you can't get it inside the country.

Once you enter and go for your extension, your extension will last until your partner's extension runs out, as they are linked.

I was under the impression that it is only in the case of the partner being on retirement extension that there is no Non-O issued in country. She should be fine for getting a Non-O in country trailing a non-b (on an extension)

I believe it's any "trailing" visa. That's why the agency quoted a ridiculous price to get it inside the country, because it's not normally available so they'd have to bribe to get it.

odd then that immigration.go.th has a form specifically for that. See point 4 on the link here
