Can I apply for a Non O visa while my wife's Non B visa and work permit are still pending?

I think I know the answer to my question, but the visa company says different, so I would like to be sure.

My wife started working in school in Thailand, she is during the process of getting all the paperwork for Non B visa from her school. I want to have a Non O visa as her spouse. We are both foreigners (from Poland if that matters). She will get her work permit after first Non B visa. We want to go to Thai Embassy in Vientiane in July.

From what I read on few websites, to get a Non O visa, amongst other papers I need my wife's work permit (which she won't have until then). So, I cannot have a Non O visa right now? Should I get a 60 day tourist visa and then Non O when my wife gets the work permit?

A guy from Meesuk Agency told us that I can get Non O even without my wife's work permit. He has problems with explaining to us even the simpliest things, just sending us forms which don't apply to our situation, so I don't trust his knowledge in this matter. Even other teachers said, that there is no way I could get Non O right now.

The requirements for 60 day visa didn't change in Vientiane? Is is still a form, passport photo and 1000 baht (as I found out in old posts in this group)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarity on their eligibility for a Non O visa as the spouse of a person applying for a Non B visa in Thailand. They are concerned that without their wife's work permit, which she will only receive after obtaining her Non B visa, they may not be able to apply for a Non O visa yet. There is conflicting information about whether a Non O visa can be obtained without the work permit, and they are considering a 60-day tourist visa as an alternative. Additionally, they are inquiring about the current requirements for a tourist visa application at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane.

OR

Is she going to a thai consulate to get it?

Hi
@Ka***
! In Vientiane it worked perfectly. This is how we wrote the declaration:

"Declaration

SCHOOL hereby declare that NAME, born XXX, passport no XXX

is suitable for stay in Kingdom of Thailand based on the fact that he is a spouse of School’s employee

NAME, born XXX, passport no XXX. We kindly ask for granting

NAME a Non-immigrant visa “O”.

Sincerely,

SCHOOL"

We had it both in English and Thai but I'm not sure if it was necessary. Also I had her employment contract and our marriage certificate. We went together to the Embassy and gave our papers at the same time so they could compare it. They asked us few questions, it took a little longer than with other people, but I got my non-O next day and my wife got non-B.

can you please update us if you managed getting the O Visa as I’m in the same situation right now. Thank you

That I don't know,
@Prz****
. I guess the letter in either language would be accepted. BUT I'm not sure

One more question, should the letter be in Thai or English? Or maybe it doesn't matter?

they just need to list the name of your wife's name DOB, her passport number, that she's employed by them is married to you, your DOB, passport number and they ask the consulate to issue you a 90 day Non-O visa based on being married to one of their employees.

is there any form for this letter or the school can write it on its own?

ok, I will try that. I'll get you know if that worked

@Prz****
right, if you're denied getting the 90 day Non-O you can easily just get a 60 day tourist visa

Make SURE you have her company write a letter stating it's okay for you to get a Non-O.

ok, thanks! If they will reject my Non O, there should be no problem with getting regular tourist visa?

@Prz****
Take the marriage certificate, your wifes employment contract, a letter from her company stating it's okay for you to get a Non-O visa, and see if you can't get the 90 day Non-O visa at the same time she applies for the 90 day Non-B visa.
