Thai visa advice Need an advice:

Currently holding a 3 months Non B visa (no work permit since my employer did not process). This visa due to expire on 30 January 2020.

I am Philippine national married to foreigner and my wife is holding Non B + work permit. My questions would be:

1. Can I apply a Non O - dependent visa without going out before my current visa expire?

1. What would be the requirement ?

1. Can I do it here at Cheangwattana or Chamchuri Square

1. Or do I have to travel outside Thailand to process my Non O dependent visa?

Thank you all and appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Philippine national holding a 3-month Non B visa cannot apply for a Non O dependent visa without exiting Thailand. It is necessary to travel outside Thailand and either return with a 30-day visa exemption or a 60-day tourist visa to then apply for the Non O visa. The in-country application for a Non O visa based on marriage to a foreigner on a Non B visa is not permitted.

I just noticed your a Phillipine national. That won't help my query. I thought you was a non fillipino.

Thank you anyway.

It comes down to whether you want to just bounce out and back in to get a 30 day visa exempt entry THEN apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa at Chaengwattana (where you need 15 days or more left on your current stamp, it will go under consideration for 14 days then you go back and get the Non-O visa and the new 90 day stamp inked in) OR whether you just want to go to a thai consulate in another country apply for the visa one morning and pick your passport back up the next afternoon with the 90 day Non-O visa in it..

Please report how you get on at the Manila Thai Embassy as there appears to not be a single report of ANY visa gained there since their website was updated requesting a copy of a Fillipino ID card for visa applications.

If you are on the initial 90 day stamp of a Non-B visa you do not. However if you are on an extension of stay from the immigration office you DO need to cancel it first before you exit the country.

Just stamping out on an extension doesn't officially cancel it

One more question
@Tod ********
, do I have to cancel my current Non B before going out?

Thanks

, I will perhaps do the second option you've said to process my Non-O Dependent visa (outside Thailand) in Thai Embassy in Manila since I am planning to go back by end of January anyway. Just wondering if any members in the group tried to apply the visa and if they encounter any hiccups.

keep in mind you CANNOT work on that Non-O visa/extension based on being married to a foreigner who legally works here. (trailing spouse visa/extension)..

Yes I am fully aware about this.

1 - NOPE, you can't apply for an in country Non-O visa based on marriage to a foreigner who legally works here while you're on a Non-B VISA.

2 seeing as you can't do it, that is a moot point

3 - you can't do it at all

4 you need to exit thailand, and either come back on a 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa entry and do the in country conversion from one of those to the 90 day Non-O visa OR you need to go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and apply for the visa there.
