TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of changing their visa from a non-O to a non-B while currently residing in Thailand. Comments indicate that it's generally not possible to change the reasons for an existing visa without exiting the country and applying for a different visa type, typically at an embassy. One commenter suggests a potential workaround involving cooperation with an employer and immigration, while another user asks for confirmation on documentation needed for the transition, particularly if it can be done at an embassy after traveling to Malaysia.

I removed a discussion about the difference between the e-mail or sticker you buy BEFORE you make your way into Thailand and a BIG STAMP you get from the Immigration Office AFTER you entered Thailand.

I fully understand we call it all the same to make live easy but to give advice, we need to use the correct terminoligy.

Like you are in the bar, you do not accept a lime juice if you order your favorite whiskey and get told you can not read, this is what you ordered.

Thanks all.

Interested! I have to do the same. Am going to Malaysia next month. So I can change from non O to non B at the embassy? Do I need the form wp3 or is enough an employment invitation from the company ?

You do not change at an Embassy, You apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa, take a look at their website for the requirements

You can not change the reason you applied for and got issued and even used your Non Immigrant Visa.

IF you visited during the first 90 days after entry the Immigration Office you might be able to cancel the big stamp with the text Extension of Stay permitted up to xx/xx/xx and apply for a new stamp based on being employed.

This needs cooperation of Immigration and Employer, best is to talk together.
