TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking to change their Non-B visa to a Non-O dependent visa in Thailand and inquires whether this can be done within the country, along with the required documents and the appropriate immigration office to visit. Commenters clarified that visa type changes within Thailand are not typically allowed. However, if the user has an extension of stay based on employment, they may apply for a new extension by canceling their current one and providing documentation that supports their marriage to a foreigner with a work permit.

I meant that IF you're on an extension based on employment here you could cancel that and with the correct documentation apply for a new extension based on being married to a foreigner who legally works here. You wouldn't need to get ANY Non-O visa, you'd cancel your current extension and then apply for a new extension right then based on marriage to a foreigner working here.

Hi
@Tod ********
thank you for replying

“IF you gave an extension of stay you can change the reason” - what kind of reason for example?

What i meant from dependant visa is being a dependant to my husband who’s a foreigner holding work permit.

When you have an extension of stay, the reason for the extension of stay is stamped in your passport. For being a dependent of a foreigner, the extension of stay would probably say something like "Dependent"

i have checked the stamp on my passport but there’s no extension reason written on it. Do you know what kind of docs needed to “change the reason for extension of stay”? Thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of your extension of stay? There's almost always a reason stamped on it. If you don't feel comfortable sharing it, you can send me or another mod a picture of it in private message.

You cannot change a visa TYPE inside the country (except from a tourist visa to a non-immigrant visa)

How about you look at your current stamp and see if it says "extension of stay permitted until" on it? IF you have an extension of stay you can change the reason for your extension to one based on employment to another reason.

Now as far as your use of "dependent visa" <- do you mean you are wanting to get an extension based on supporting a thai child of yours or what?
