A friend of my husband has Non-B visa extension.

1.He wants to quite the job at the current company at the end of March.

2.He will apply for Non-O visa based on marriage with a Thai.

3.He will work for another company/Applying for a work permit.

Can he proceed all these without leaving Thailand? If you can let me know the process would be great.

Thank you very much in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A friend's husband is seeking guidance on transitioning from a Non-B visa to a Non-O visa in Thailand while considering a change in employment. The process involves canceling the current work permit and visa extension, obtaining necessary documents from the existing employer, and applying for the Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen. He must ensure compliance with financial requirements and pay the extension fee. Once this is completed, he will receive a temporary stamp while awaiting final approval for a yearly extension.

He will NOT be applying for a Non-O VISA :O

He would cancel the work permit, get documents from the employer and go to the immigration office and cancel the current extension of stay he's on. Then he would immediately apply for a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai (by meeting the financial requirements and turning in the appropriate documentation). He will pay the 1900baht extension fee and get a 30 day under consideration stamp. After that stamp runs out he goes back and gets the year extension inked in

All he really is doing is "changing the reason" for his extension to one based on employment to one based on marriage to a thai. There is no "get a Non-O visa involved" in this process

Thank you very much for your advise. Can he then immediately apply for a work permit when he gets a 30 day under consideration stamp or has to wait until he gets the year extension stamp?

That is between him, his new employer and the Ministry of Labour. This is a thai VISA advice group.

He needs to talk to the Ministry of Labour about that
