In regards to METV for USA passports. I looked up my local consulate and had questions in regards to three of the requirements. If I've been in Thailand the past two years and am no longer employed in the states is that a problem; and the evidence of flights in and out of thailand do I actually need to buy, print, then cancel flights for this?I'm assuming the hotel booking can be a reservation for a few days and that's easy.

Anyone who can give insight on this would be great.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the requirements for obtaining a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for USA passport holders, specifically questioning whether previous employment status in the US affects the application, the necessity of buying and canceling flights as evidence, and the details regarding hotel bookings. Comments from others provide insights, indicating that employment verification may not be strictly necessary, and suggest using flexible hotel booking options and alternative proof of funds for the visa application.

It does not mention that you must be employed in the US, just a letter of employer verifying employment.

Which i don't have as I work in the states every few years and only do volunteer work in small villages here while I'm in Thailand

Usually the requirements on a consulate website are exactly what's required.

Garrett I'll email them today. But from other comments it seems as easy as a SETV but just more money needed in the bank account

Garrett Greenwald. You do know that you can be an employer and an employee of a company that you own.

Garrett Greenwald. Give it up. It's the Consulate/or Consulate services of the Embassy and most of them require the documents listed on their websites
Steve *******
Garrett Greenwald. Employee or Employer. Like I said it's down to the Consulate where you apply.

This is my exact thought as well as the multiple flights entering and exiting Thailand. I can understand one entering and exiting. But if you exit via land as well you'll have no proof

Yes, and for hotel bookings just choose the ones with a 'pay at the hotel' option, and then cancel later.
