Can I apply for a DTV visa in Thailand as a Singaporean with ongoing employment and freelance work?

Hi all, I’m a Singaporean hoping to apply for a DTV visa, either from Malaysian Thai Embassy or Singaporean Thai Embassy. Seeking advice 🙏🏻

I’m currently employed under a Singapore-registed firm that allows me to work overseas, but I also have freelance clients and have contracts/portfolio/invoices from these clients—so I am thinking of just focusing my application on my desire to remote work in Bangkok. I have considered going through my employer to apply, but want to see if an independent application would be possible.

I understand that these two countries require a lot of documentation. If i want to apply for workation, will it be okay even if I am currently employed (hybrid flexible schedule) in SG?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Singaporean is seeking advice on how to apply for a DTV visa either from the Malaysian or Singaporean Thai Embassy. They are currently employed but also have freelance clients and are considering a remote work application to live in Bangkok. They want to know if they can independently apply for the visa while being employed.

You can apply how you want to as long as it meets the DTV criteria. Yes a lot of docs required for those 2 embassies.
