Hi,

The Taipei embassy's website lists the following requirements for a workcation visa:

* *An official employment contract (with an employer residing abroad and no income generated in Thailand),

OR*

* *An official employment certificate (with an employer registered abroad),

OR*

* *A professional portfolio demonstrating status as a digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent, or freelancer,

OR*

* *An invitation or acceptance letter to participate in the mentioned activities.*

I have a few questions for anyone who has applied through the Taipei embassy:

1. Is providing one of these documents sufficient for approval?

2. If applying with an official employment certificate, what details need to be included? Is a signature and company stamp enough?

3. For freelancers, can I create my portfolio independently? Are there any specific requirements regarding the number of jobs?

4. Were there any additional documents requested during the process?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Taipei embassy outlines several options for obtaining a workcation visa, including an official employment contract, an employment certificate, a professional portfolio, or an invitation letter. Applicants have shared experiences about the sufficiency of one document, the need for comprehensive details in employment certificates, and whether a freelancer can produce their own portfolio. Additional queries include the necessity of a bank statement and the process for applying for the DTV visa.

Don't they want bank slip or bank statement that show 500,000THB?

Yes they do. I think the OP is focused on the work related docs not finance

do you have to make an appointment to get the DTV visa or can you walkin and queue?

The threads have several posts from Taipei applicants. One of the options is suffice, providing more can strengthen your case. Make sure to Include " able to work remotely overseas " or similar is included in documentation.

Thank you for your answer. I couldn't find a case like mine. I've been helping a friend's company without any agreement or contract. I think they could extend an official letter, just wondering what kind of details the embassy would check for.

Noted on the "able to work remotely" :)

Use company letterhead letter to outline the position, emphasize it is online. Inc business registration info, you have permission to work remotely in Thailand. Portfolio can be done as you please.
