Hey guys, I’m a remote worker in Hong Kong and want to apply for DTV (workcation). My contract states that my work location is “any designated location” and I’m employed by a Hong Kong entity. However, my company also has a thailand business registration (they can relocate me but my salary needs to be reduced which I don’t want to).

Am I still eligible to apply for DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A remote worker employed by a Hong Kong entity inquiring about eligibility for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand. The worker's contract allows for a designated work location but is concerned about potential salary reduction if relocated to Thailand. Responses highlight the importance of having a letter from the employer confirming remote work approval, and no direct ties to Thai clients that could affect visa status.

The only issue is if you work with the Thai team or Thai clients/suppliers

I read "any designated location" as your work can tell you where to work. I think you'd need something specific from your company stating you can work remotely, preferably from Thailand

Keep employment with the HK legal entity. Get letter approving remote work from Thailand for the HK office. If transferred you would need a B visa and a Work Permit.

I don't see any reason why you cannot successfully apply. You have proof of remote work in your contract, and how would they know your employer would alternatively relocate you?
