I know dtv is a new visa and we can't know the exact answers.
However, I would appreciate it if you could give opinions on my case.
I am now living in Thailand on a language school ED visa.
During my stay with ED visa, I am also working remotely with a US based company.
My ED visa will end in September and at that time, I would go to another country to apply dtv visa under "Workcation" as a remote worker.
I have to provide the invoices and the contract with my job to prove I am a remote worker.
That's why I have to show my invoices that I got while staying in Thailand with ED visa. 😅😅
Do you see my problem here?
I know I am not allowed to work while staying with ED visa but I have to show the invoices if I want to apply as a remote worker.
Do you think would it be a problem?
Should I just apply dtv visa under other categories such as muay thai?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an ED visa for language studies in Thailand but is also working remotely for a U.S.-based company. Their ED visa expires in September, and they plan to apply for a DTV visa under the 'Workcation' category from another country. They are concerned about needing to show invoices from their remote work while on the ED visa, which technically prohibits work. Comments suggest that past visa statuses are typically not of concern during the DTV application, and past experience indicates approval was possible even while on an ED visa.
