I'm a Freelance and I've been living in Thailand since February 2022 with tourist + student visa (so definitely a LOT of stamps on my passport haha)
My last student visa ended on the 14th of December 2024. I'm back in France and plan on applying for a DTV visa to come back to BKK on the 23rd of January
My question: as I was previously on a student visa and not supposed to work in Thailand, how do I explain being a freelance and showing them my company registration/invoices for the last couple of months when applying for the DTV visa? 🫠ðŸ«
Not sure if it's a legitimate question or if my overthinking brain is doing its magic again so I figured I'd ask!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a freelancer living in Thailand since February 2022 on a tourist and student visa, is concerned about explaining their freelance work while applying for a DTV visa after their student visa's expiration. Community members have provided insights about the application process, indicating that previous visa details might not be heavily scrutinized during the application. They suggest that as long as freelance work is conducted for clients outside of Thailand, it may not pose an issue, and emphasize the legitimacy of the DTV visa catering to people in similar situations.
The DTV is new, it's making wat your doing legitimate, embrace it and apply. This is why it's been created for people like us. They only ask for the biodata page, they can see everything online if they want to check everything, security, criminal everything is logged.
I am in the same situation, but this is what I found out.... when you apply online you just upload the front page of the passport and the document about your work. Whoever sees your application won't see any of your past visas ( and I doubt that at this stage they will check you in their database). Once you have the DTV visa and you will cross the border, the immigration officer will see your past visas, but will never know the details of your application, so also the date of your past jobs contracts. So I guess it should be safe!
