Hi everyone! I have a question about the 500,000 THB financial requirement for the DTV.

If one person applies as the main DTV applicant and the spouse and children apply as dependents, does only the main applicant need to show 500,000 THB in their bank account?

Or does each dependent (including children) also need to show 500,000 THB separately?

For example, for a family of 5 (2 parents + 3 children), is 500,000 THB enough, or would we need to show 500,000 THB per person?

This has been asked hundreds of times already. It’s 500k per person. For 5 people that would be 2.5 million. Just please don’t tell me that you are intending to move to Thailand dragging 3 children after you on a tourist visa😳

WhiteGoldfish6259 absolutely true. Under 15 there are no fees nor bans for overstay. The Google it does something you should try it sometime.

But what I've stated is 100% accurate and true as I know several families who have done it.

nope we had to show 500k for each of our child. I don't need to Google it because we already have done the application and received our visas early last year. There are no bans for overstay like you say but children still need a visa (hence why kids at schools still require education visas)

The official rules are clear, 500k for each applicant.

Some embassies doe not enforce this requirement for (young) children.

Allthough children under 15 might not be punished for not having a visa and an overstay, they officially still need the visa, and overstay stamps in a passport do not give a good impression wherever you go.

So what you say is officially not 100 percent accurate, but in fact 100 percent inaccurate.

Husband will need 500,000. If children are young (I think under 14 or 16) they just need a sponsor letter saying you will cover their expenses.

How old are the kids? If very young, a separate 500k should not be needed for them.
