My husbands DTV visa application rejected with no reason provided.

DTV ( e-commerce business owner ) Application Rejected

We are going to start new application, but before we want to find out what should be a problem here.

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice from this community.

We came firstly to Thailand in September 12, after month a vacation my husband flew to Hot Chi Min, Vietnam and started the application.

22 October started application -

He is citizen of Belgium (Born in Kazakhstan), but last three years we were living in Netherlands and all his statements from Netherlands.

He gave papers that proves that he is owning company. In Dutch and English.

Bank statement 3 months and so on…

Afterwards they asked for an extra documents:

- financial statement’s for 6 months : *but he gave only for one month*

- submit a photo of every page of his passport

- and an brief where he was describing how he is working remote. *now im thinking maybe this mail was too dry and official, maybe he has to describe that Thailand is a perfect destination for making business and developing… and so on.*

My husband also works as a remote worker for a dutch company, but because we are not sure that the company will give an officially that he can be in Thailand we didn’t mentioned this income.

Afterwards it was pending approval for last 2 days.

Today he received Visa application was rejected.

We were traveling in Thailand once year ago. That’s why no visa runs on passport was shown.

So far, no explanation was given for the rejection, and we are trying to understand whether:

1. Anyone has had a similar experience applying in Vietnam?

2. Can it be that the application was rejected because we already in Thailand and didn’t went to immigration office before application. We have been here as tourists so far.

3. The second is maybe because he gave only one month financial statement is the real reason for the rejection???

4. It’s worth reapplying there or trying another consulate?

Any insights, experiences, or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you so much

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's husband's DTV visa application was rejected without explanation, leading to speculation about possible reasons. Community members suggest that the rejection is likely due to providing only one month's financial statement instead of the required six months, and the importance of submitting personal bank statements instead of business accounts. Other points raised include whether applying from Thailand may have influenced the rejection and the possibility of reapplying at a different consulate. Community feedback emphasizes the need for thorough compliance with application requirements.

As explained by DTV Beg Pecker, you have to provide personal bank statement generated from your online banking (web or mobile app). Even if he's receiving salary/ payment in business account, he must show 500K+ Baht in a PERSONAL ACCOUNT, even if it's for a couple of weeks. No exceptions. They gave you a second chance but you failed.

What don’t you understand they asked for 6 months and he sent 1 cased closed

Additional docs requested - financial statements for 6 months and provided 1. I don’t see why you are asking why it was rejected.

Hey Mubarak, sorry to hear about your husband's rejection. It must be frustrating dealing with a rejection especially when it's required to be applied from a foreign country.

From what you've shared, the issue from your case is very likely due to the banking document you provided. I saw your reply that you had created your own bank document (as well as provided only 1 month instead of the requested 3 months) from a business account.

From our experience, generally only savings and current account in your personal name are accepted. The embassies are also particular strict regarding the financial requirement of THB500,000. Your husband may just download a bank statement from his banking app but do note that business accounts will not be accepted.

Regarding re-submission, it is not advisable to apply at the same embassy. We have had multiple cases where our students got their approval after the 2nd application in another country.

Happy to share that we've successfully assisted over 250 applicants get their DTV through our cooking programs! So we are quite familiar with the process, feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions.

It is explicitly described on most Thai Embassy website and in the manual of the evisa website, that you will not get any reasons if your application is rejected, why would you then expect to get a reason.

You may not be in Thailand during the application process, and have to stay in the jurisdiction of the Embassy applied at, until the visa is rejected/ granted.

Can absolutely not be in Thailand in that period.

Restart by do THOROUGHLY research from the Thai Embassy website and other. trustworthy sources, and make sure you only take notice of information regarding the specific Embassy which you will apply at, since requirements differ from Embassy to Embassy.

Best to apply in the country where the most important documentation origin from, especially when it is documents not originaly in english.

Be sure to provide excactly the documentation they as for, and for as long as period as they ask for.

Why did you only supply 1 month when they clearly asked for 6 months? Did your husband stay in Vietnam the entire time up until the rejection? Were the bank statements supplied personal or business statements?

He asked AI whats the difference between bank statement and financial statement. Because it was not clear for us. And chatGDP gave him a tabel.. it was not from bank app, but self made. We are still doesn’t know clearly how to do it properly: like though bank application?

And yes it was bank statements supplied from a business account. Because he is receiving his salary as a freelancer on his business account…

They don’t accept business bank statements. It needs to be a personal bank account. Check the search function in this group, has been discussed often. You need to submit 3-6 months of personal bank statements
