What are the financial requirements for a DTV application in Thailand for a family with children?

When applying for DTV as a family (not married so two separate applications) with two kids under 16 do we need 500,000 per person including the kids or just 500,000 per adult? And I’m assuming we can add our children onto our application? Will be applying from London, England. can’t seem to find a proper answer online, have emailed the embassy but waiting on a reply. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa as a family, each adult requires a financial proof of 500,000 baht. Although children may not need to independently prove this amount depending on the specific embassy's rules, generally, they will each need to submit separate applications and may require a sponsor letter from the parents. It is recommended to clarify this with the embassy.

Apply for the adults first, 500k bath pr person. Then apply for the kids as dependants with sponsorship letter.

Are the kids gonna go school in Thailand or what is the plan there? This is very important when thinking of what visa they should be on.

Anonymous participant in place of showing each child has 500k, you write a letter, as the parent saying you are “sponsoring” them. Strange terminology, but basically saying you are responsible for their finances

Also, for the kids, you don’t just add them on. You submit seperate applications (with the application fee) along with the documents required (proof of relationship to initial DTV holder, initial DTV, financial proof, etc.).

For the DTV, each applicant is assessed individually, including dependants. In practice this means that the financial requirement applies per DTV application, not per household, and children also require their own DTV if they are staying long term under this scheme, even if they are under 16. As a general rule, the 500,000 baht requirement therefore applies per applicant, including children, unless the specific embassy explicitly applies a different internal policy, and some embassies may accept the financial requirement for children to be satisfied through a financial guarantee as a sponsor letter issued by one or both parents, but this is not standardised and must be clarified directly with the relevant embassy or consulate before applying.

When I did it, I used the same 500thb for myself and 2 kids. In your case you'll need 500thb for each adult application, then when applying for dtv dependant, include the parents bank statement along with a sponsor letter
