Hello All,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I just wanted a clarification please. I’m currently on a covid extension , I originally came on a 60 day tourist visa . My current COVID extension is expiring on the 21st of September. I wanted to apply earlier because I have to submit my passport to the Canadian embassy . I was wondering that if I went in on Monday (13th September ) would they potentially give me an extension till the 20th of November or would they give me less days because I applied earlier. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is on a COVID extension of their tourist visa, set to expire on September 21st, and is considering applying for an extension earlier, specifically on September 13th, while needing to submit their passport to the Canadian embassy. They seek clarity on whether applying earlier would affect the duration of the new extension.

IF you are currently on an 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, GENERALLY another extension of stay of the same type will ADD time to your admitted to stamp.

At some immigration offices, you can apply 45 days in advance, at others, 30 days in advance.
