Hi, my Covid 19 visa extension ends this month July 27th.

Should i do my next visa extension 1 week earlier before the current one ends or i can do it on 2 or 3 days before it ends.

Because last time i went 10 days earlier and i lost 10 days because they count new one from day you apply for new extension.

But also they told me that i havw to come back in 1 week to get stamp in my passport.

And also how it is currently with immigration office can we do Covid extension here in Bangkok because of current Lock Down.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the timing for applying for a Covid-19 visa extension before their current extension expires on July 27. They express concern about losing time if applying too early, based on previous experience. Community responses clarify that applicants can usually apply for an extension when 30 days or less remain on the existing visa, with many immigration offices allowing applications even earlier. Additionally, it's mentioned that the extension generally starts from the day of application. Users confirm that immigration offices in Bangkok remain open for these extensions despite the Covid-19 lockdown.

I'm shutting down this post because it's going all over the place.

1. Most immigration offices allow a person to apply for a new extension of stay when there's 30 days or less remaining on the existing stamp. SOME allow it when there's 45 days or less remaining on the stamp. ASK your local immigration office what the policy is.

2. If you are getting a new 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, it generally beings on the day you apply. If you are getting another 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, the day is usually added on.

3. The last day to apply for an 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is July 29, 2021. Different immigration offices have different requirements, but most require the following:

your passport, and a copy of:

- your picture page

- Your visa exempt stamp

- Your departure card

The application forms. Each immigration office may have slightly different forms

MAYBE a letter from your embassy saying you can't return, OR a letter from your embassy saying they don't issue the letters, OR a screenshot from your embassy website saying they don't issue the letters.

2x passport photos

MAYBE a TM30 filed at the local immigration office. Ask your hotel for the copy they submitted.

1,900 THB processing fee

Thanks one and all!

I'm guessing you got your first 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 last time. I believe Bangkok immigration has been adding time to the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

>But also they told me that i havw to come back in 1 week to get stamp in my passport.

It shouldn't matter how soon you apply for it, the extension of stay should be added on to your existing extension of stay

>And also how it is currently with immigration office can we do Covid extension here in Bangkok because of current Lock Down.

Immigration offices are open as normal
