Do I understand correctly that if I do a covid extension today, then I can do it again before 30 Nov to get 60 days again, as long as I pay the fee?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of obtaining a second COVID extension for their visa before November 30, 2021, after applying for an extension today. Several commenters explain that while it is theoretically possible to apply for another extension, it ultimately depends on the immigration office's discretion. They also clarify that the last date to apply for the extension is November 26, 2021, and mention that extensions usually start counting from the original expiry date, which could impact the user's ability to apply for another extension.

Thank you all. I was told at immigration today that even if I apply right now, the 60 days extension starts counting from my original expiry day (12th Nov), I was a bit skeptical at first coz my previous extensions always started from the day of application. But both volunteer and IO told me the same so it must be so. They means I can't go for another extension from 26th Nov.

You'll likely get some rolling eyeballs.

why would she? She'll be paying a full 1900 baht fee for only small extension of around a month on top of what she already has. That's nice business for immigration

that may be true, but the extension is unable to travel due to covid, their Facebook says they live in Phuket, doesn't really seem like they are stranded so to speak trying to max out extensions.

In theory, yes. But I'm hearing reports that some immigration offices are starting to make it slightly more difficult. You'd also need to be in the time period to ask for a new extension of stay.

Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Phuket, Chiang Rai and a couple of others all allow people to apply for extensions when they have 45 days or less left on their current stamp. However, ask your local immigration office for specific details.

November 26th is the last day to apply for it. And yes, you can apply for an extension up to 30-45 days (depending on the immigration office) before your stamp expires.

That’s up to the immigration office you use. In theory yes, but they make the decision.

I heard Phuket is relatively relaxed?

Yes, relative to some offices, they don’t require a TM30 nor a letter from your embassy (or denial of one). You must use the Phuket Town office to apply. You go to the office up the stairs. I think it’s room 201, but it’s the only office up the stairs.

26th November is the last date you can apply.
