First time Covid extension visa question:

Hello, I arrived in Bangkok on July 2nd on a Tourist exempt visa of 45 days, expires on Aug 16th. Since there is talk that the covid extension visa will be ending, should I go tomorrow to get my visa extended just in case? And if so, Im not sure where to go as there seems to be many locations.

I am a Canadian citizen

Located in Bangsaen

Thanks so much for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their tourist visa expiration on August 16 and whether they should apply for an extension due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 visa extensions. Responses indicate that there is no immediate need for an extension, as the current regulations allow for visa extensions up to September 27. It is advisable for the user to wait until closer to their expiration date for visa operations.

At the moment the "covid extension" is available until the 27th September. Apply for your 30 day extension first (take you to around 14th Sept) then appl for the "covid extension".

No one knows when these covid extensions will come to an end. What you're hearing is pure speculation.

Oh there’s a 30 day extension first? I didn’t realize that. That’s great, thank you!

The COVID extensions will continue... No need to go this week as your stamped in permitted to stay date is until mid August.

Only those whose stamp date is expiring at the end of this month of July need to go to Thai immigration before July 30th.
