How does the COVID extension affect my tourist visa if I apply it before my expiry date in Thailand?

The covid extension was meant for people who could not return home. It's not a free pass for someone who wants to stay longer. At the moment they are turning a blind eye but you never know when they will stop this.

One option I believe is now possible is a flight to cambodia

whether they start it on the date you apply (which you can apply when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp) OR whether they add it to your current expiration is between you and the issuing officer. 😮

You MAY be required to show onward travel within the time they're going to give you the covid extension for so be prepared for that AS well as be prepared to be denied as covid extensions are totally discretionary

seeing as you just flew in you obviously aren't "unable to travel" 😉 what I'm trying to say is that they are getting more and more stringent in the handing out of covid extensions as opposed to them giving them to every Tom Dick and Somchai who applied for it earlier this year
