Currently I'm on my second 60-day covid extension, and soon will have to apply for another one. The first two covid extensions were given to me at the Samui immigration office, since I was staying there during that time. Currently I am in Bangkok, and wonder, do I need to go back to Samui to apply for a new extension, or I can apply in Bangkok?
As I understand, the immigration office in Bangkok is more strict when it comes to covid extensions these days, so going to Samui for this purpose is something I am considering anyway.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether they must return to Samui for their next COVID extension application, as they currently reside in Bangkok. They mention concerns about stricter immigration regulations in Bangkok compared to Samui, where they previously received their extensions.
Since this last 60 day covid program was continued to the 25th of Jan EVERY office was told to be more stringent in handing out covid extensions AND just because you don't WANT to leave doesn't mean you get to stay ๐ฎ
As far as where to go, that's on you. Post in a Samui or southern island group and see what they say.
Rudi Martinz I think that either place will be okay to get another covid extension although you might have to show onward travel here in Bangkok (which means you should have a booking OUT about 55 days from the expiration date of your current stamp so they don't "short stamp you" <- give you an extension ONLY under your ticket out date.
Rudi Martinz just so you know that it's not anything to do with the correct documents , as Bobby said all the covid extensions have been at the discretion of the issuing office/officer, AND believe me they're getting tired of people showing up who've been here since March 2020, milked the free amnesty and are now milking back to back covid extensions to stay here. You CAN leave, and just because you don't want to leave isn't reason enough for them to hand you the 60 day extension. What I'm saying is you can ASK for an extension you don't have a "right" to one ๐ฎ
I can see it only getting harder and more stringent (at every office) in the coming weeks as this covid extension program draws to a close.
