As i wrote a few months back I didn't keep my retirement visa extension alive when leaving the country and returned, I then got a 90 day non O and am understanding that I can then get my 12 month extension after this. I'm told this can only be done with 30 days left on the visa. My question is, the 90 day O runs out on Aug 8th, I need to leave again and come back so will get a multi entry on this but can I still get the extension with only 2-3 days left for example August 4th?? Or does it require the full 30 days left??
TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to know if they can apply for a 12-month extension on their Non-O visa with only 2-3 days left before it expires on August 8th, given their plans to leave and come back to Thailand. Comments suggest that it's possible to apply for the extension as long as it's done within the last 30 days of the visa, and it may be more convenient to apply early to avoid any issues with documentation.

I guess he tries to tell you that in stead of the Multiple Re-entry Permit you can buy the Single re-entry, cheaper and you only go out once on this Extension.
they could apply for an extension up to the very last day they were stamped in on but I agree with you waiting to the last day cuts it close especially if any of the documentation is wrong, etc. There's no leeway (y)
I think the O/P realizes now that once they have an extension they need to get a re-entry permit or it cancels when they leave, seeing as they got into this problem by failing to buy a re-entry permit ;)
ok thanks Robert, because at immigration they told me 30 days, thats great then, i can still apply right up to the last day as i don't plan to re-enter thailand until around the 4th August.
You can apply for an Extension of Stay in the period 45 days prior till the last day of the Admitted to Stay period. Going early makes it more convenient just in case you missed a copy, so you have time to make this and come back. The 1 year Extension is always added to your current Admitted to Stay, so you will not lose days by going early.
