My 3 month O visa based on retirement expires on october 8 th
I was thinking to go to immigration on oct 7th to apply for a 1 year extension.
But I'm wondering now if I shouldn't have started the process 2 weeks before the expiration date.
Thank you

the good thing is he doesn't need a year transaction history print out because this is his FIRST extension off his Non-O 90 day entry stamp. he can get away with the on demand one that most banks print while you wait (which is usually for 6 months) and updating his bank book the day he goes to apply along with the bank letter which is good for 7 days (at most offices)
I'd get after it this week ASAP as in Mon-Tues. You don't lose any days applying early and that way if you mess up you still have a few days before your 90 day stamp runs out to get it right and try again.
did you already go to your immigration office and get the hand out listing the documents you need, the bank letter, updated bank book etc, so you can be ready when you apply?
