TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to add your child to a retirement visa until they reach the age of 20. Apart from education visas, options for children's visas are limited. The Thai Elite Visa may be a viable option for those who can afford it, as well as the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) if the family can show 500,000 THB in funding.
Depends on age of child. Up until 20 it’s possible. Not many other options but look in to Elite if money isn’t an object or the soft power options of DTV if they can show 500k in funding.
He's 4, was born in Thailand in fact. His mother is Lao but grandfather is Thai. long-term I suppose he can get a Thai passport but I just need something for six months right now.
If they come in visa exempt they can stay until they are 14 with no repercussions. They can’t be fined for overstay. Until 18 they can’t be banned from Thailand.
When they go to school the school will probably ask for them to get an ed visa but they can actually study without one.
