What options are available for obtaining a long-term visa for my daughter not eligible for an ED visa while I apply for my retirement visa in Thailand?

I think I have figured out the steps to come and then apply for retirement visa. I am coming from USA this summer. My question is: I have a 16 year old daughter who will be in a hybrid-homeschool program. She is not eligible for ED visa. I have heard people mention dependent visas but I see no evidence of this online on official gov of Thailand websites? Am I missing something? What can I do to get her a longer term (1 year) visa? Thoughts?

I applied for a retirement visa in 2007 at the consulate in Los Angeles. Done extensions every year since. Your daughter will not be charged if overstay until 18. Ask at the embassy DC or consulate in many cities before you come. Much easier to have the annual visa in the passport before coming. That gives you about 8 months to prepare for extension

not actually correct 😕

children under 15 are not fined for overstay and children under 18 are not banned.

There is no "annual visa" (other than an OA visa) that you can get from the consulate which is all online now and you can't choose what consulate you use. ,

They would get a 90 day single entry Non-O just like they're doing, and they have 3 months to get ready for the extension

huh? So what is an OA?? ITS an annual. Are you saying it's not a year visa now??

@Wayne *******
OA is a a year long multi-entry visa, Sorry I was talking about the O/P getting a 90 day single entry Non-O visa (that doesn't require insurance) not a year-long multi-entry OA

Why wouldn't your daughter be eligible for an ED?
Tod *********
sorry michael I'd answered thinking of another post

They will be home schooled and there is no ED visa you can get for home schooling in thailand

You apply for the 90 day Non-O visa using the online eVisa website for the reason "Retirement (pensioner aged 50 or above with state pension who wishes to stay in thailand for no longer than 90 days)

These choices

you can try to see if your daughter can get this visa category

It's a Non-O visa for the reason

To stay with non-Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days)

Yes, thanks, got that. Was wondering about my daughter? I would apply for same with her at same time? I don't see any option for dependents.

same time you apply for yours, include a screen shot of your pending application in hers and use the same account
