If my husband is 50 and he gets a retirement visa can I be a dependent on his visa? Our plan is to retire to Thailand but he is in the medical field so will be coming and going. I’m 40 so don’t qualify. We have 2 young children, can they do their schooling over there? Tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question outlines a situation where a woman is inquiring about joining her husband, who is 50 years old and seeking a retirement visa (Non-O), as a dependent despite being only 40. She also asks about schooling options for their young children in Thailand. Responses indicate that she can potentially enter as a dependent under her husband's long-term Non-O visa, provided he meets financial requirements (800K Baht). Additionally, comments suggest that the children may qualify for an education visa, with other users sharing personal experiences related to obtaining visas and settling in Thailand.

UAE is a paradise on Earth. It will not last long though and it may be too expensive for many of us. And they will not allow you to retire there unless you are a millionaire.

According to the hadiths....muslims are not supposed to live under a government that is not muslim-led. Especially polytheistic governments such as Hinduism and Buddhism si I am just surprised that you would want to live there as a devout muslim.

I am not sure why you are cursing the hell out of me. You are really foul-mouthed. Thailand could do without the hatred.

We went to live here, as getting Schengen visa, was hell, and we love both Thailand. We have a normal relation of 10 years now, so the dessert was not an issue

Yes, you may enter as the dependent of someone who had a long-term stay Non-O visa based on age. The financial requirement remains the same (800K Baht). Wishing you best of luck making the Kingdom your home and here’s a link to the bullet points on getting the Non-O.

I’m in the same situation, I’m 52 and my wife is 42. After much research and advice from members her and on the Thai Visa Forum I’ve decided to apply for the OX retirement (5year visa) from the Sydney consulate, once granted they will sell a Non O visa to my wife which after 60 days in Thailand we can go to immigration and have her visa connected to mine. Hope that helps.

OMG😵‍💫 just looked at the cost for elite visa and it’s alot. I guess if you are there for 20 years then it’s financially viable.
