2 Questions. 50 isn't really that far off so I am starting to plan options. 😎 If I get a retirement visa can I add my children as dependents? If a foreigner buys a condo, can it legally be willed to children?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses two questions regarding expat life in Thailand: whether children can be added as dependents on a retirement visa, and the inheritance rights of children concerning condos purchased by foreigners. Community members suggest that the ability to add dependents may depend on the children's nationality and age, while the inquiry about condo inheritance raises concerns about the legal framework for foreigners in Thailand. Discussions advise consulting legal resources for clear answers.

As far as the Condo goes the Thai laws are not very foreigner friendly. Your answers are here:

Kelly Ann they will of course need passports.

At age 50+ you can obtain a so called retirement visa. No work or work permit is allowed with that visa.

IMHO...condos and homes are most affordable as a renter. Its a renters paradise. Keep your $$$ in your home country. Gives you maximum choices in future and avoids prolonged probate disposition of your Thai assets.
