TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether liquid savings not held in a bank account are acknowledged as sufficient funds for the DTV visa in Thailand. Multiple commenters suggest that embassies typically require proof of funds in the form of bank accounts, as they want to see funds that are easily accessible for at least the past 3-6 months. It is recommended to contact the specific embassy for clarity, as requirements can vary, but generally, bank statements are deemed necessary for proving financial stability.
A lot people invest the spare cash in funds shares bonds houses bitcoin savings gold pensions etc .. not everyone has a spare 15k sat in current account think that’s what he getting at ..
They usually want to see instant accessible funds in the bank account for up to last 6 months. The embassy you will apply through will tell you much clearer.
Ask the embassy you're applying to. But 99% of the time they want to see the money in the savings bank account under your name. Some embassies also want to see that money sitting in your bank account for the past 3 months at the least.
Is there some reason you can’t have a bank account? I’ve never been to a country that when they wanted to see my finances they didn’t want to see bank accounts 🤔
they aren’t really interested in assets. Do you need that specific visa? Are you staying? I’m just curious because there seems to be a huge influx of Israelis recently.
you need to show money you can access to support yourself while in the country ,money tied up in investment isn't like accessible money for living on . 🙏🏽
I honestly don’t know. It seems you are really set on them accepting it the way you have it but I think most of us in the group that can answer you, have all had the experience that they want it in a bank account. Perhaps there is another way. 🤷🏻♀️
