Has anyone successfully gotten the DTV visa using USD on a cryptocurrency exchange account (like binance) as proof of funds?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users in the community overwhelmingly suggest that funds from a cryptocurrency exchange account, such as Binance, will not be accepted as proof of funds for the DTV visa in Thailand. They emphasize the need for cash held in a traditional bank account, citing that many applications get rejected when funds are shown as investments or in accounts not directly held in the applicant's name. It's advisable to convert cryptocurrency into fiat money and ensure that the funds are in a local bank account for the application process.

Better to transfer to your bank, but some countries require 6 months balance. Jakarta didn’t, just cared about current balance

Curious, how long did it take you after applying to receive the visa?

Jakarta was reasonably quick, even considering it was holiday period. I applied 26th, asked for extra info the 30th, sent 31st. Received approval the 2nd.

I applied in October before they switched to E-visa. Walk-in, no appointment. Pickup 3 days after .

They switched to E-visa in November

Savings account works, but for workcation they ALSO wanted to see receipts of salary, so sent my chequing statement which did not have the minimum.

and that worked for you?

Yes, approved late next working day. I had the minimum balance in my account for the 6 months, so can't comment on how long it needs to be there, but I've heard it doesn't need to be 6 months.

No, cash only in a checking account - anything perceived as an investment account is denied.

I showed three years of trading accounts and fully paid tax returns with ample available funds, but got rejected. For whatever reason, they need funds to be shown in a traditional bank account in your own name.

the same thing happened to me, they only accept bank accounts not any kinds of investing accounts

I'm about to apply for mine. I was going to include an entire financial package. Sales.. assets.. cash on hand and my crypto file..

Better to have it all on a readies notice.

Thailand is one of the biggest crypto holdings countries in the world.

I don't think so, they want to see it in liquid cash, held in a single savings/checking account. 3-6 months minimum balance at some places. Good luck
